Daily Devotional – 8/1/16 “New beginning!”

A new month, August that is. Eight, biblical meaning = resurrection and regeneration or like some say new beginning. With this being the case, today is the day you no longer entertain the enemy. Tell him you’re taking your life back, your stuff back and he has to get the hell on. Today, resurrect the dead places that have started to rot within your spiritual walk. Today, regenerate the fire of God that has went out within you. Today, start afresh leaving the past behind. Today is the today you begin again. It doesn’t matter what you’ve been called, the things of your past neither the many times you’ve fallen, all that matters now is your willingness to get up and start new. Are you willing? 8+1+16 = 25 which, biblically means, grace upon grace. This literally means that not only is today the day you begin new, it’s also the day you receive a double portion of God’s grace. And you know what God says about His grace, don’t you? He says in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” The bible says in Ephesians 2:8, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” It says in 1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

I don’t know what you’re dealing with my brother, my sister but today you’ve been given another chance. I don’t know what you faced on yesterday but today you’ve been awarded another opportunity. I don’t know what ‘they’ said you couldn’t do, all I know is today is your chance for a new beginning. You simply have to take it. Stop doing what you used to do, it hasn’t worked. Stop going where you used to go, it won’t help. Stop depending on the stuff, it’s messing you up. “Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18
