Excerpt … Shattered

Shattered available now on Amazon

“I do want this marriage, why else would I still be here?”

“To annoy me,” I shrug then laugh. “Maybe this is karma for everything I’ve done, to you or it’s God’s way of punishing me for breaking my vows. Either way, I can’t keep doing this. When I get back from Miami, I’m going to find somewhere else to stay and file for divorce. Now, get out,” I say walking over to open the door.

He grabs my arm, turning me to face him and closes the door. “I’m not going anywhere and you’re going to listen to me, for once.”

“I don’t—”

“Damn it, Camille.” The sound of his voice causes me to jump. “I’m sorry for yelling but I’ve put up with so much of your crap and never once did I say divorce. The nights, no the mornings you’d come in from doing God knows what, I was right here. When you threw in my face, your cheating, I still gave you chance after chance. The night you overdosed—”

“Don’t.”

“No,” he says pushing me back against the wall. “The night you overdosed, I gave you the option to stay and get help, but you left, and we all know how that worked out. You, laying in the hospital for seven days and I was right there, watching you fight for your life.

Camille, I’ve always been here, for you, even when I should have put your ass out and now, the first time I mess up, you want to leave me. Well, you can’t because you owe me more than that.”

I snatch my arm away from him. “I don’t owe you anything.”

“Like hell! You owe me the same freaking thing I keep giving you and that’s a chance. Camille, I made a huge mistake but why is my sin costing more than all the ones you’ve committed? Why should I have to pay, with our marriage when you almost paid with your life and yet, I’m right here? Am I not worth, fighting for?”

I slide down to the floor.

“You don’t get to decide that we’re over. You have to fight for me, at least once because I deserve it and damn it, you’re going to do it.”

These six friends have endured a lot and it doesn’t seem like an end is in sight. With more storms and broken hearts, more shattered trust and crushed promises; some are on the verge of giving it all up.

Keep Waiting

I’m sharing this on both blogs today because I need to encourage somebody, to keep waiting. When I got ready to re-release #ASecretWorthKeeping, I was hesitant. For one, it has six characters and two, I was changing the book from it’s original form. Y’all … the response to #WhentheVowsBreak has surpassed my wildest imagination. I wish I could tell you there was a magic formula (there isn’t). I wish I could tell you there was a specific ad or promo that did it (I can’t). I wish I could tell you the right keywords (I can’t).

What I can tell you is this … God is amazing. He’s allowed me to be supported by people, in states and countries; I’ve never met yet you purchase every book. God allows me to use Him (He’s okay with it) on the pages of books, to get people to see and feel Him. #byanymeansnecessary

Y’all, writing is part of my purpose. This is why I don’t bash those who don’t support, they will one day. I’ve stopped complaining and started praying more. And, here’s the hardest part, I’ve started waiting, patiently. Waiting on what God has for me, in every area of my life.

For somebody who is looking at the seeds you’ve sown and they haven’t bloomed yet, keep waiting. For somebody who is looking at their business and it hasn’t sprouted yet, keep waiting. For somebody who is thinking about throwing in the towel, keep waiting. For somebody who has been waiting, this may hurt to hear but you’ve got to keep waiting YOUR TURN. It’s like when you’re sitting in the DMV and you’re looking at that ticket in your hand that says A12 and they’re just on A68 (which means they have to go all the way through to 99 just to start over and get to you) but eventually, your number will be called. WHEN IT’S YOUR TIME.

Trust God’s process, even when you don’t understand. If what you’re doing, is part of your purpose, there will be moments of hurt, pain, lack and everything else you can think of. However, if you wait, working while you wait, trust while you wait, prepare while you wait, faith it while you wait and believe while you wait; it’ll pay off.

Dear God,
Forgive me for being impatient with my purpose. Forgive me for rushing your process. From this moment, I’m going to wait in and on you, while you renew my strength. And while I’m waiting, I’ll thank you, in advance, for what you’re going to do. Amen.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31

My newest release #WhentheVowsBreak is a remake of my very first fiction series, #ASecretWorthKeeping.

Is it the same book? No! The characters are the same but the story line is completely different.

Is it Christian Fiction? Not fully, as book 1 takes you on a journey, with these 6 women, to find their way back to God, Faith, trust, etc. With this being shared, there is some cursing and sex scenes (although not as explicit as before).

Is it available? Yep! On #Amazon and #KindleUnlimited.

Do I need your support? ALWAYS!

Get it HERE!
