Daily Devotional – 6/10/14 “Open your mouth!”

Your marriage is suffering because you and your husband are too scared to tell your parents to butt out. Your relationship with the children is going to hell because you’re too afraid of hurting their feelings when you should be the adult. You keep praying for God to remove the enemy from around you yet you’re still sleeping with him or her because you’re scared to roll over and tell them it’s over. Your grown kids are causing havoc in your home because you’re too scared to put their tail out. You can’t even go out if you wanted too because your daughter keeps dropping her kids off but tell her no every once in a while. You keep allowing your family to drain you dry because you’re fearful of telling them no sometime. Baby, God gave you a mouth to use, use it! Stop letting folk kill your dreams, rain on your parade, surround you with their pity and fill you up with their foolishness. When will you say enough is enough? Open your mouth! You’re quick to tell the pastor the mistake he made but you walk around on egg shells in your own house. You get to your job and won’t open your mouth when folk do you wrong but let Sis. So & So step on your toe in church and you’re ready to fight. Stop holding stuff in when things aren’t right because if you’re right in what you’re saying, my bible tells me in Proverbs 12:19, “The one who tells the truth will endure forever, but the one who lies will last only for a moment.” If you aren’t happy say so. If you’re sad, say that too. If you aren’t being fed spiritually, say it and if you don’t understand what is being taught (God’s word), say that too for the bible says we are destroyed for the lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Open your mouth and declare that the enemy has to flee. Open your mouth and take back that which has been taken by the enemy. Open your mouth and declare victory over sicknesses and debts. Open your mouth and declare yourself victorious. Open your mouth and declare that you shall be first and not last. Open your mouth and declare that this promotion is yours. Open your mouth and declare that there is no limit with God. Open your mouth and declare that everything that is meant for you shall be. Open your mouth and declare with the faith that it’s already done and it will be. Open your mouth and take back your home, your children, your career, your passion, your living and your giving. Open your mouth and declare it! For my bible tells me, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light; Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10.”

(My personal testimony but I’ll share it …)
For I am chosen, even in this mean world, I am royalty; I belong to God which means I can declare His praises, for it was God who called me; it was God who turned my darkness into light; it was God who chose me! Before I was nobody now I am just who God declares I am. Before I had an office of mess but now I have a ministry of God’s mercy. Before I was who man called me but oh when God called my name He called me chosen!
