Daily Devotional – 6/29/16 “Do what you can, God will do what you can’t!”

It’s another day and you woke up just like yesterday, trying to figure out how you ended up in this place. This was only after you walked the floor a few hours, last night, trying to understand and you can’t. Then you rolled over and looked into the face of a dying relationship and you still can’t explain it. You got up, rubbing your head, only to now stand in the mirror unable to recognize the face looking back. Where did things go wrong, you ask yourself yet you can’t answer it? You get dressed because you don’t want people to know you’re suffering, so you hide it behind fancy clothes. You cover the sadness and the tear stains with makeup but they’re still there. You put on your best smile but inside you’re slowly dying. You prepare to leave the house taking another look around trying to remember the good times but you’ve allowed the bad to overshadow them. You get to your car and you can’t even start it because you don’t have the strength. You’re trying but it’s so hard. You want to give up but people are depending on you. You need a new start but you don’t know how to start over. So, now you’re sitting there; in your self-made bondage crying for help only to realize you aren’t actually saying anything. And just when you’re about to throw in the towel, your phone dings signifying a text from someone else who needs you and you put on your super cape and prepare yourself to be great, once again. But baby, when will you realize you aren’t superman/woman? When will you understand that in the midst of helping everybody else, you’re losing you? When will you recognize that while everyone is enjoying their lives, you’ve placed yourself behind mind-made prison bars and no one is visiting you?

Now you’re asking yourself, for the thousandth time, “How did I end up here?” “What am I doing with my life?” You know the answers but you’re afraid to say them out loud. You know the mess you’re in but you’re too scared to get out because of what people may say. You know the problem but if you actually confess it, it’ll make it real. Well baby, it is real. An unhappy home is real. Depression is real. Suicide is real. Bondage is real. Alcoholism is real. Drug addiction is real. Loneliness is real. Abuse, it’s real. Low self-esteem, yep; it’s real. The need to fill a void so you do something else crazy, it’s real. Running from God so you’ll do anything to silence His call, it’s real. But how much longer are you going to run? When will you face the fact that when you get back, it’s still there? Plus, it’s better you do it now rather than later because you may not get later. Don’t stay because it’s best for the children, what about you? Don’t stay because it’s where you’re comfortable; how has that been working? And stop trying to fix it yourself, you mess it up every time. What you have to do, beloved, is take every broken piece of you to the potter and let Him restore you. Yes, you’ll have to confess to Him how you got broken but the good news is, He’ll forgive you AND forget. Stop trying to heal yourself. Stop trying to repair yourself. Stop trying to make it work on your own. Say it today, I NEED HELP! For I’ve found that when you do what you can, God will do what you can’t. When you say what you can, the Holy Spirit will say what you can’t. And when you give up what you can, Jesus will take those things you can’t. You just have to trust in the power of the Trinity – The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit!

The door is open for you to come out!

Daily Devotional – 6/28/16 “You weren’t ready then but …”

I often look at the memories Facebook shares just to see how I’ve grown. I reflect on some of the things I’ve written and/or shared and I’m grateful for the reflective look because it makes me appreciate where I am now, in this point in my life. My uncle asked me on Sunday, if I ever thought I’d be a preacher of God’s word and I told him no. He then says, I did. I was blown away. See, even though I didn’t see it in myself, then, others did. Even when I doubted, I was already walking in the favor of God; I just needed to believe. Then I look at Facebook this morning and see the memory from 6/28/12. It was the night I prayed over my grandmother’s arthritis stricken shoulder and the next morning she was up with no pain. Re-reading this memory made me realize that I was anointed then. The only difference, four years ago, I wasn’t ready for it. Yes, God’s calling was on my life but had I accepted it, back then, I would have messed it up. And it’s the same for somebody reading this. You’ve had God’s anointing on your life for years but you weren’t ready then. Yea, you’ve always had the favor of God but you weren’t ready to work in it. Yes, you’ve been able to dream and see visions but they didn’t make sense then because you weren’t ready. But now, God is calling you out and He’s preparing you for the front line. This is why you are feeling the way you do and you can’t understand or explain it. This is why God won’t allow you to rest at night, He has some things for you to do. The reason it feels like you’re struggling spiritually, is because you’re ready now and it’s time to stop running.

Please understand this … It doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve been called to preach but it means that God is calling you into your appointed assignment. And you know exactly what it is because you’ve been fighting it for years. You can continue to fight it, if you want, you’re only making things harder for you because God won’t leave you alone. Why do you think He’s removing certain people from around you? Why do you think He’s moving you from the places you’re comfortable? Why do you think He’s disturbing your sleep or sending signs your way? Why do you think He sent you where you are? It’s time! It’s time you stopped running, accept your assignment and get to work. God is restructuring His front line and He’s removing folk who have become lazy in their assignment, replacing them with folk who are ready, willing and able. You may not believe it (or you might) but God is filling the gaps that have been created by gossip and greediness with some grace workers. He’s about to move those murmuring, messy members and replace them with some folk willing to carry the mantle. He’s about to disrobe those who show up for the fame and replace them with those working in His name. He’s about to destroy these temples created for man’s glory and build up those created for Him. Baby, God is doing a row check and if you can’t carry the cross of your calling; He’s plucking you out. You don’t have to believe me, keep watching! I’m not telling you what I’ve read or heard but I’m telling you what I am seeing. This is why God is calling you out, right now. It’s not because you’ve been faithful and steadfast all your life but it’s because He needs some faithful folk on His front line and now you’re ready. You weren’t ready then but you are now. All you have to do is trust in Him who appointed you!

“We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” – John 9:4

Daily Devotional – 6/27/16 “It’s time we get right church!”

The physical worship places of today have become so commercialized and money hungry that we’ve forgotten about saving the unsaved and empowering the saved. Some preachers won’t even preach God’s word without a certain amount of pay when God gave you the gift for free. Yea, a workman should be paid but will you still show up at a small church who can only afford half your normal rate? Why has it become easy to focus on natural things and not the spiritual things? Yes, precious pastor; I know you have 1000 members but how many of them are spiritually worthy? Yes, fellow pew member; you can recite scriptures but is it evident by your life? Yes, unwavering usher; your movements are on point but can you point me to the way of salvation? Yes, devoted deacon; you know the pastor’s contract better than your name but how many souls have you bought to God? Yea, mighty missionary; you look good on annual day but what else are you doing? Beloved, God is doing something in the spirit that is shaking up the spiritual realm. This is why a lot of us are feeling out of whack and can’t understand it. Some of you are waking up confused, that’s because you’re still fighting what God is trying to do. Some of you are trying to figure out why you’re so tired; that’s because God is trying to get your attention and the only way He can, you have to be sleep. Don’t you understand, God is tired of seeing us play with His word? God is sick of you laying your dirty hands on His people with no anointing. God is tired of these empty altar call prayers that isn’t casting out any demon. God is tired of the non-teaching bible studies and the big words you share on Sunday morning. And God won’t continually sit by while you go from the pulpit to the hotel, the church to the club, from bible study to the bar and from shouting to causing hell.

You may be tired of hearing this but it’s my duty to tell say it. Plus, you may not have all the time you think you do to get things right. We are living in times where children are murderers at the age of 15. Women are being murdered by men who claim to love them and men are being taken advantage of by women in child support court and the system is failing them. Police officers are acquitted of killing innocent victims all because they carry a badge but what about the oath to serve and protect. Racism is freely walking through our streets and if you say something, you’re pushing your own agenda. Reality TV is taking over but it’s not reality. Schools are failing our children and we accept it. A man can rape a woman and get away with it. Two people can commit the same crime and their sentence is based on the color of their skin. The enemy is bold enough to stand up in our worship places and we’re too afraid to tell him to get the hell out. When will we get back to saving the unsaved and empowering the saved? When will we tell folk their message is no longer valid? Aren’t you sick of it too? Please make a note of this … I am not perfect and I still fall short but I’m striving every day to be better than I was yesterday and I may not always get it right. However, I’m sick of the enemy holding on to my children, peers, family and friends. Aren’t you? Are you not tired of being defeated? It’s time we get right church!

“Yes. What’s up?”
“Can I get a quickie?”
“Where are you?”
“Outside.”
He walks out and my mouth is watering. I pop the locks on the doors as I motion for him to join me in the back seat.
He stops and waves for me to let the window down. “Camille, what—”
“Just get in,” I say cutting him off.
He quickly opens the door and slides in. I can tell by his facial expression he is at a loss for words.
“What are you up to?”
“Don’t talk.”
I reach for his crotch and trace his manhood with my fingers. Thank God he has on basketball shorts. I quickly take off his shirt and slide down to remove his erect penis from his shorts. My eyes are on his as I lick my lips preparing to taste him. I take him into my mouth savoring the taste while slowly taking inch by inch.
“Damn girl!” He moans as I widen my mouth to take all of him, tightening my muscles with each suck.
“Um, yea, make it sloppy for Daddy,” he says, grabbing the back of my head.
I give him the side eye. His talk has been unusually dirty lately. “How do you want it, Daddy?” I ask sarcastically while looking into his eyes.
His eyes widen when he realizes what he’s said.
“Relax and tell me. How do you want it?” I ask, while sucking on the head.
“Just like that, ugh, like that!
“Like this, Daddy?” I say sucking him harder and making sure to get it very wet and sloppy. I let my saliva slide down the side as my hand gets faster and faster with the rubbing.
He has both hands on my head as I make sure he is hitting the back of my throat.
“Wait,” he says. “You’re going to make me nut if you keep that up. Let me feel you.”
I remove my panties and sit backwards on his lap. Sliding him into my wet and throbbing candy box, I grab the back of the seat as I position myself to ride. He has one hand on my waist and the other playing with my nipple.
“Hmm, you feel good.”
“Do I?”
“Yes, damn good.”
“Show me, make me cum.”
I guess he’s up for the challenge because he grabs me around the waist with both hands and begins pounding into me. I lean back into him as he moans into my ear. I match his pumps by grinding into him as I feel my orgasm forming.
“Don’t stop.”
I pull my legs up so they are now on each side of him as I play with my clit. “Open your eyes,” I tell him.
I want him to see me squirt. This is a pleasure he’s never experienced with me.
“Um, I’m about to cum and I want you to watch.”
I rub my clit harder as the sensation builds. “Oooo! Shit!” I scream as I squirt all over the back of my seats.
“Damn girl, what in the hell was that? That shit was sexy as hell!” He turns me over with his pace intensifying and I lose my breath. I have to put my hands on the car door to keep from hitting my head.
“You’ve been holding back on me…

Daily Devotional – 6/24/16 “Benefits vs. blessing!”

I shared this story a year ago and for some reason it fits again today.

“There were two mechanics working on the tracks of the railroad, one was young and the other an older gentleman. One day, as the train came into the station, an older gentleman got off and shouted down to the older mechanic, “Hey Bob.” Bob, shouted back, “Hey Frank.” The younger mechanic was blown away and asked, “Do you know who that was? That’s the president of the railroad. How do you know him?” Bob says, “We started together at the railroad some 30 years ago.” The younger mechanic looking confused asks “If you both started together, why is he the president of the company and you’re still a mechanic.” Bob replied, “Because I started working for $3.13 an hour and Frank started working for the railroad.””

– The moral of the story is … You have to be mindful of what you’re working for!

Many times we get caught up in working for the benefits that we miss the blessing. I don’t mean blessings as in open doors, receiving that which you’ve asked for and such but I mean the blessing and the anointing of God. I mean the filling you up with the Holy Spirit so much so that you don’t even look nor sound the same. Beloved, don’t you know that when God places His hands on us to bless us; there isn’t an enemy, man or woman who can take it away? Don’t you know that when we get the blessing of God, things start to move in our favor? Don’t you know that when we get God’s blessing, folk see us differently? It’s not because of what we’re doing but it’s because God has now laid His hand upon us and blessed our life. Why do you think everywhere you walk is good? Why do you think every time you open your mouth, God can be heard? Why do you think every place you step is left with God’s presence? It’s not because of you but it’s because of the God in you. And you probably didn’t even recognize when the change happened. But I can tell you when it did. It was when you stopped playing with this thang! It was when you got up from laying out on the altar and told God, I’m ready. It was when you finally stopped running. It was when you allowed God to show up in your bedroom on that Wednesday night and blow your mind. It was that Thursday in your car when something took over you and you couldn’t stop crying. It was that Sunday, you started walking down the aisle of the church and surrendered. It was then you received the blessing of God. It was then you stopped working for the money and started working for God’s mercy. It was then you stopped working for the accolades and started working through the anointing. It was then you stopped working for the acceptance of men and starting working to be accepted by The Man.

Baby, it is when you stop working for the benefits of God and start working for the blessing of God that’ll you see your entire life change. You’ll start getting invitations from folk you didn’t even know, knew you. You’ll start reaping from harvests you didn’t even have to labor and plant. You’ll start going places you’ve only seen on TV. Folk that use to talk about you will now be the ones to bless you. And it’ll only happen when you stop working for the benefits and start working for the blessing. And get this… when you do, you’ll get God’s blessing AND His benefits. This is why the bible says in Colossians 3:23-24 “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”

Benefit vs Blessing
