Daily Devotional – 4/15/16 “Preparation for the storm!”

Somebody is about to go through something and it’s going to shake you to your core. Yea, the enemy has already set up camp outside your house, he’s already called in his bet against you and he’s already checked the win in his column but he’s a bold face lie! Baby, I come today declaring and decreeing that whoever you are, you shall not die! I don’t care what the enemy says, you shall win! I don’t care that it looks like the odds are against you, you will be victorious! Maybe I’m talking to myself but whoever you are, prepare yourself now. When a town is preparing for a hurricane, they take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety until the storm passes; now is the time for you to do the same. Here’s what I need you to do. I need you to board the windows (your eyes) from the stuff that’s about to start coming your way. You know how the enemy works; he’ll start sending stuff he knows you like to get you off course. He’ll send that man or woman when you start having problems at home. You’ll start getting advertisements in the mail from the check cashing places when your finances are funny. You’ll start seeing stuff on social media that wouldn’t usually bother you but this time it will. Board the windows. Next, I need to you to guard the door, the door to your heart. Don’t let just anybody in because you’ll be emotional and going off your feelings and not your faith. Then I need you to seek cover, spiritual covering. For the word says in Psalm 91:1, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

Yes, it’s about to get crazy but it won’t last. The sound in your ears are about to be loud but prayer even louder. The shaking in your spirit is about to be something you’ve never experienced, brace for the impact! For the bible tells me in Revelation 2:10, “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.” See, somebody is about to be placed into a spiritual jail and you’ve committed no crime. Somebody is about to be pushed so far in the pit, it’ll feel as if you’re close to death; you’ll live. Somebody is about to face hell in your home after everything has been going so good; it’ll pass. Somebody is about to experience a wilderness walk through and it seems as if you just came out of one; don’t unpack your bag. Somebody is about to lose everything over something or someone you thought was everything, they/it wasn’t. Somebody is about to be persecuted because we love the Lord, rejoice because He loves us too. So, stay the course because after the storm, the SON will shine again. Then we’ll be able to step out and realize the only thing you lost was the stuff that didn’t mean you any good anyway!
