Daily Devotional -8/24/15 “Social media status!”

Why do I have to type amen on a social media site to be blessed? Why do I have to share a picture of money in order for God to send me a financial blessing? Why do I have to type yes under a picture of TD Jakes in order to understand that whatever I asked God for, He’ll do it? Why are we, as Saints of God, getting so wrapped up in the disguise of that crap? Baby, God isn’t monitoring Facebook to know if you typed amen yet He’ll hear you if you come to Him in prayer. Chile, God isn’t concerned about the many of times a picture has been forwarded but He is concerned with the souls you’ve invited to worship. God isn’t counting the likes on your post but He is counting the times you’ve helped folk. Stop getting wrapped up in these posts that promise you a quick blessing from God if you type amen, yes, I’m blessed and all that. Or those that say, “If you believe in God, type amen.” Who are you trying to prove it too? Who’s keeping roll?

Your status on social media shouldn’t prove if you’re a Saint of God, your living should. Your comment on a post shouldn’t have to verify the validity of your anointing; it should show when you open your mouth. The evidence of whose you are should be witnessed by your walk and the content of your character. And if there has to be a question when someone looks at your page, typing amen on a post won’t make a bit of difference. This is why, everything you do; you should do it in a way to please the Lord. Stop trying to please man or woman when it’s only for a moment anyway. This is why social media shouldn’t determine your spiritual status, your spirit should. Live your life; physically to please God at all times! And then on social media, use it in a way that if God had a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat or whatever else; He’d want to request to be your friend after viewing your page.
