Daily Devotional – 1/15/15 “Oh Faith!”

As Saints of God, you will sometimes get to a discouraging point but don’t tarry at the point of giving up long enough to actually want to give up. Yea, there will be times where the hell you’re going through will seem like it’s too hard for you but that’s only to test your faith. Yea, there will be times your burdens will get heavy but that’s only to test the strength of your legs. Yea, your spirit will be tested by the enemy who has camped out in your home, church or job but that’s just to test to see if your spirit is true. Yea, your heart will be tested with hurt by family, friends and folk who said they’d never hurt you but that’s only to see if you can forgive like you say you can. Yea, you’ll be tested when the job lays you off but that’s only to see if you’ll trust in God like you say you do. Yea, your health will be tested with the sicknesses and diseases of this world but that’s only to see if your faith will sustain in the one true healer. Yea, your finances may not always make it like you want them too but that’s only to see if you’ll trust in the provider who says He’ll never leave you nor forsake you. Yea, there will be times you’ll want to give up but that’s the time when you are supposed to give your hand in to God. Will you pass it over or will you forfeit your chance?

My cousin asked me the question last night, how can she walk in unshakeable faith when the devil is trying to shake her faith. But you know what I told her, let your faith shake just don’t let it drop! This is putting on a brave face! It’s like getting on a roller coaster. You know there is going to be an ending point soon but while you’re riding, you have to go through twists and twirls that cause you to close your eyes, some drops that cause you to yell out and some dips that cause your stomach to drop but once you feel it coming to an end and it finally coast to a stop and you open your eyes, you realize God has done it again! For Jesus is pleading for us like He did for Simon in Luke 22:32 saying, “But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Baby, God is doing; will do and has done it for us time and time again! All we have to do is ride this thang out. Yes, our faith may shake but don’t drop it and don’t allow it to lose its power. It will do its part; all we have to do is hold on to it. “For we live by believing and not by seeing.” 2 Corinthians 5:7!
