I’m featured in the Desoto Times-Tribune Newspaper.
How cool is that?
Never would I have imagined being featured in a newspaper, yet here I am. Isn’t God amazing?

Daily Devotional – 1/16/19 “Spiritually Kidnapped!”
Some of you came into 2019 with your spiritual kidnapper and the reason you haven’t left yet, you have Stockholm Syndrome. In other words, you’ve gotten comfortable with the person/thing who has kidnapped your gifts, plans and purpose. Yea, they keep reminders around but you’ve got used to not using your gifts because “they” said they weren’t good for you and would never pay off. They remind you, in anger, what they ‘saved’ you from but truthfully, they only made you a hostage. They allow you a little freedom, to dream, but not much because if you were to ever get a taste of your purpose, they are fearful of you realizing your true potential and leaving their raggedy, good for nothing butt. This is why, beloved, they’ll keep calling you fat, ugly, useless, unimportant and saying no one else will want you. A manipulator and abuser will tell you everything, they know will make you stay. “I’ll kill myself if you leave,” “I promise not to hurt you again,” “You know I didn’t mean it,” “I’ll get help,” or even “I’ll help you with your dreams.” Yet, they’ll still hurt you by taking you to the edge but not allowing you to touch.
They want you to believe you can’t make it without them but are you not tired? Are you not tired of hiding the journals with the unpublished books? Are you not tired of throwing away your visions and goals? Are you not tired of looking in the mirror and not recognizing the gift that you are? Are you not tired of purpose keeping you up at night or daydreaming about the thing that makes you happy? Aren’t you tired of not walking in your calling? Yea, what you’re doing and that job you have now, it’s okay but it’s not your purpose. For Psalm 57:2-3 says, “I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.” My sister/my brother, today I’ve seen your face on the missing poster and I’m calling in a tip for your freedom. Yea, I’m sending in the Spiritual Weapon and Tactic Team (SWAT) to pull you to safety. I’ve called the Chief of Purpose and He’s mobilizing His best team of angels to get you out. Oh but hold up because you have to be ready. It makes no sense to go through all the preparations just for you to go back to your pit. If you’re ready, great but if you’re not speak your truth and when you are ready, then give this signal … Lift your head towards heaven and say, “God, I surrender and I’m ready.”

Daily Devotional – 1/15/19 “God got it!”
Fear will make a grown man cry. Fear will make a woman do things she wouldn’t ordinarily do. Fear will cause things not to go according to plan. Fear will cause us to die, prematurely. Fear of no paycheck will have your thoughts wandering. You want to know something though? Fear only has the power we give it. You don’t have to believe me but be the person wanting on the results of blood work and see if fear will not have you going stir crazy. You’ll start looking up your symptoms and WebMD will have you dying. You’ll be worried and concerned about something that hasn’t even happened yet. Let the meteorologist say bad weather and the entire city is frantically clearing off the shelves of the local grocery story. Think you’ve lost or left your phone somewhere or think you’ve misplaced your bank card and see if fear will not have you panicked. More than that, fear of the unknown is even more paralyzing. I’m a witness even though I trust God, fear still lingers because that’s what fear does. Well, no more! No more fear holding us hostage, fear is not our portion. We shall walk in the abundance grace of God and trust Him. Yea, I know the government is shutdown but Heaven is still open. I know government workers are on day 25 but God’s power still works. I know you are looking at your natural but can I get you to trust God?
Here what the bible shares in Leviticus 25:20-21, after God told Moses to tell the people of Israel they shall not work the fields for an entire Sabbath year; God says, “You may ask, “What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops?” I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years.” Beloved, stop looking at what you think is the source of your survival when God is the resource of the source! You’re depending on the job, people, places and things and looking at the President’s actions when God says, in Psalm 37:1-9 (NIV), “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.” The righteous and the faithful, you will not lack. In fact, God will use the wicked to feed, clothe and provide everything you need during your need. Don’t fear it and don’t fight it; faith it!

Daily Devotional – 1/11/19 “I need closure!”
A lot of times we use the phrase “I need closure,” before we can move on but did you know that some wounds are left open in order to heal? Yea, I thought I’d let you know that sometimes beloved, closure, although it’s what you seek; it may not be what you get. You keep chasing folk trying to get “closure” and instead all you get is chaos, confusion and crying. You remain stagnant because of the need for closure yet those you’re waiting on have moved on. Look, when a wound is infected doctors will sometimes leave it open, in order for it to heal. You know why?
1. Because closing an infected wound makes the infection worse.
2. There isn’t enough “tissue” to close the wound and you run the risk of it reopening.
3. The person, who needs the closure, isn’t healthy enough to withstand the closing.
Closure is sometimes needed, don’t get me wrong, but trying to get healing from the person who left you wounded, don’t always end well because they might not know how to give you what you need. Forgive them, even if you only speak it to the wind and make right the offense you caused. Close the door yourself, you don’t have to wait on anybody else; they might not show up. Close that chapter of your life, you don’t need anyone’s permission; they may never give it. That apology, it may never come and if it doesn’t, don’t allow that to be the reason you don’t live. Stop chasing folk, stop stalking their social media pages, stop looking through old pictures and texts but more importantly; STOP WAITING FOR SOMETHING THAT MAY NEVER COME! You don’t have to have closure to live, laugh, love and be happy, profitable and in your purpose. All you need is God, faith, strength and the determination to get up every morning knowing you are God’s and everything He creates is great!
“Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” – Psalm 34:14

Daily Devotional – 1/9/19 “Sheep and Shepherds”
In this New Year, I pray for people to desire and crave God more. Not just for beneficial reasons but because you love Him and you willingly seek to know Him and do His will. On last night, God was dealing with me on sheep and shepherds. This is a subject I’ve touched on before but whether you know this or not, you as sheep need a shepherd. Here’s where I think the problem is. We go to a church with incorrect thinking of what the pastor’s responsibility is. The pastor is the shepherd and his/her responsibility is to strengthen the weak by providing sound teaching (nourishment), seeking those sheep who have gone astray, bandaging those who have been wounded in the wild and protect the sheep under their care. A shepherd doesn’t have to call you on your birthday, come to your housewarming party and shout you out on social media or respond to all 24 of your inbox/text messages. This is why you, I mean sheep, have to stop being so easily offended when the pastor doesn’t do what you think they should, causing you to run. When you run you, the sheep, leave yourself open to being wounded as prey. Here’s your blessing though. A good shepherd will go look for the one who strays. You want to know why? The shepherd is the one who will bandage your wounds and protect you from the wild because you’ll be too weak to fight on your own.
A good shepherd is one you follow because it’s not his voice you hear but that of God. A good shepherd is willing to stay up at night praying for you because they see a wolf approaching in the spirit that you haven’t seen yet. A good shepherd gives wisdom. But let me ask this … What are you doing as sheep? Are you being led astray because you don’t know the voice of your shepherd? Are you a wild sheep who doesn’t need a shepherd because you never settle down or are you a domestic sheep who requires the care of a shepherd? Are you a wild sheep who search for food, eating and digesting anything or a domestic sheep who is fed by their shepherd, the nourishment needed? Beloved, sheep needs shepherds because a sheep who is not properly cared for tends to carry too much weight which then leads to internal issues that keeps them from growing, infected feet that keeps them from walking, inflamed knees that keeps them from kneeling and the inability to care for the very thing(s) they birth. Sheep need shepherds unless you like being wild and wandering alone but how has that worked for you? It’s not too late, for you can pray like Psalm 119:176, “I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments.”
