Daily Devotional – 8/14/19 “Keep Waiting.”

I’m sharing this on both blogs today because I need to encourage somebody, to keep waiting. When I got ready to re-release #ASecretWorthKeeping, I was hesitant. For one, it has six characters and two, I was changing the book from it’s original form. Y’all … the response to #WhentheVowsBreak has surpassed my wildest imagination. I wish I could tell you there was a magic formula (there isn’t). I wish I could tell you there was a specific ad or promo that did it (I can’t). I wish I could tell you the right keywords (I can’t).

What I can tell you is this … God is amazing. He’s allowed me to be supported by people, in states and countries; I’ve never met yet you purchase every book. God allows me to use Him (He’s okay with it) on the pages of books, to get people to see and feel Him. #byanymeansnecessary

Y’all, writing is part of my purpose. This is why I don’t bash those who don’t support, they will one day. I’ve stopped complaining and started praying more. And, here’s the hardest part, I’ve started waiting, patiently. Waiting on what God has for me, in every area of my life.

For somebody who is looking at the seeds you’ve sown and they haven’t bloomed yet, keep waiting. For somebody who is looking at their business and it hasn’t sprouted yet, keep waiting. For somebody who is thinking about throwing in the towel, keep waiting. For somebody who has been waiting, this may hurt to hear but you’ve got to keep waiting YOUR TURN. It’s like when you’re sitting in the DMV and you’re looking at that ticket in your hand that says A12 and they’re just on A68 (which means they have to go all the way through to 99 just to start over and get to you) but eventually, your number will be called. WHEN IT’S YOUR TIME.

Trust God’s process, even when you don’t understand. If what you’re doing, is part of your purpose, there will be moments of hurt, pain, lack and everything else you can think of. However, if you wait, working while you wait, trust while you wait, prepare while you wait, faith it while you wait and believe while you wait; it’ll pay off.

Dear God,
Forgive me for being impatient with my purpose. Forgive me for rushing your process. From this moment, I’m going to wait in and on you, while you renew my strength. And while I’m waiting, I’ll thank you, in advance, for what you’re going to do. Amen.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
