Daily Devotional – 3/5/19 “Refocus that energy!”

Stop trying to pay people back for what they’ve done to you, when God says in Deuteronomy 32:35, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly.” Stop praying for God’s hand of anger to strike them. Instead speak like Jeremiah 20:11, “But the LORD stands beside me like a great warrior. Before him my persecutors will stumble. They cannot defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten.” Stop saying you’re going to do them like they do you, when you know it’s not your character. For bible shares in 1 Peter 3:9, “Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it.” Stop being angry when you see those who’ve done you wrong, hurt you, stole from you and/or lied on you; prospering. James 1:20 says, “For the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.” It isn’t yours to make them pay for their evil actions and misdeeds. Besides, how do you really know if they are blessed? Do you see what they’re dealing with behind closed doors or when the lights and cameras are off and social media is logged out of for the night? Truth is, you only see what they show and it doesn’t mean you know. Stop wishing evil against folk because it blocks you from getting what you deserve.

Yes, it’s easy to wish bad on folk, we think we’ve accomplished something when we shut up our prayers for those who’ve done us wrong and we celebrate when they fall. But did you know the bible tells us in Proverbs 24:17-18, “Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall; don’t be happy when they stumble. For the LORD will be displeased with you and will turn his anger away from them.” Listen beloved, forgive them, pray for them and wish them well. Breathe! I know that’s a lot to take in yet here’s the good news, you can do all of this from a distance. So, don’t block your blessings wishing evil on folk. It’s not for you to make people pay for Proverbs 23:17-18 says, “Do not let your heart envy sinners, But live in the fear of the LORD always. Surely there is a future, And your hope will not be cut off.” That’s all. I simply wanted to encourage someone, today by letting you know; your enemies haven’t gotten away with what they’ve done or what they owe you. Nevertheless. you need to use your energy on doing God’s will and allow Him to handle them. Release them and let them go. Stop looking at their social media pages, stop re-reading messages and stop preying on them. It’s not for you to make them pay … live in and do God’s will for your life; He’ll handle the rest.
